Crocker Umeya Apartments is a new 100% affordable mixed-use complex located at the border of Skid Row and Little Tokyo in downtown Los Angeles. Totaling 161,00 square feet, the project includes 175 units. The seven-story, Type III over Type I building features 8,700 square feet of commercial space and one level of subterranean parking. Amenities include a community center, café, and resident supportive service space. The project is targeting LEED Gold certification.
Morley Construction Company is providing concrete subcontracting services for the project totaling 4,670 cubic yards. Scope of work includes foundations, slab-on-grade, and three levels of conventionally reinforced elevated deck to support a wood structure above. The building footprint breakdown includes 25,444 square feet of 5-inch-thick slab-on-grade at Basement Level; 24,656 square feet of 10-inch-thick elevated deck at Ground Level; 20,901 square feet of 10-inch-thick elevated deck at Level 2; and 19,867 square feet of 13-inch-thick elevated deck at Level 3. Concrete footprint totals 90,868 square feet.
