The Mountain at Mullin Park is a new athletics and event center on the Pepperdine University campus. The overall project consists of a 160,500-square-foot, 3,600-seat sports arena connecting to a student athletics center with multi-activity court (MAC) and wellness center. The arena will include reception spaces, student café, green room for speakers, catering kitchens, central plaza, accessible loading docks, and storage areas. The three-story, 45,000-square-foot wellness center will house Pepperdine’s new RISE (Resilience-Informed Skills Education) program and includes fitness facilities, offices, and classrooms.
Morley is providing the structural concrete for the project consisting of foundations, slab-on-grade, one level of elevated deck (on each of three buildings), slabs-on-metal deck at structural steel systems located above the cast-in-place structure, and concrete retaining wall with vista terrace. The project is adjacent to construction of a new parking garage by a separate general contractor, requiring strategic planning and logistics.
