High Place West consists of close to one acre of land with 47 affordable- to low-income housing units. Many sustainable elements were incorporated into the design including photovoltaic panels on the roof, a hydronic hot water system serving the community center, zero VOC paints and cabinetry and energy star appliances. Landscapes were also designed with sustainability in mind, using native drought-resistant plants. The project was funded by Community Corporation of Santa Monica (CCSM).
